This role is crucial in safeguarding our customers’ data and ensuring the integrity of our systems. The Cyber Security Engineer will be responsible for implementing and improving security controls across the business, driving meaningful change in our cyber maturity program.

The Cyber Security Engineer will work collaboratively to deliver workstreams including, but not limited to, Perimeter, Network, Endpoint, Software, Data, and Foundational controls. As a Security Engineer, you will take responsibility for implementing controls on an enterprise scale. Taking guidance from our internal controls framework, you’ll be able to translate complex requirements into effective and scalable solutions, thinking not only about implementation but also the run and operate of the controls.

Understanding that one-size does not fit all, you must be creative in your approach, engaging with teams across the business to make their products more secure while balancing the need to move at speed and be flexible. We are an Agile business organised around cross-functional end-to-end squads, which are then grouped into Tribes and Centres of Excellence (CoE). This role will require collaboration across all areas of the business, so how you work is just as important as what you do.

You should be just as comfortable creating code and deploying technical solutions, as you are educating others and enabling the business, while always thinking customer first. This role can be based in any of our 3 head offices (Slough, Welwyn Garden City or Manchester). Occasional travel to the other offices may be required and is expensable. Tesco Mobile currently operates a hybrid working arrangement with a minimum of 2 days per week collaborating with colleagues at an office, Store, or Supplier location. This role has potential for career growth or learning opportunities for the right person.
