Work Level - 2 (Permanent role) Location - Newcastle, blended working. Office Attendance - Our roles are hybrid, however you need to travel to our Newcastle office 2 days per week for this role. Opportunity: Tesco Insurance and Money Services is growing their product team, and we’re looking for a Technical Product Owner to lead the charge in transforming our systems - ensuring efficiency, compliance, and being future-ready. As the Technical Product Owner, you’ll be at the heart of our Technology transformation. You’ll be key to developing our end-to-end journey, working closely with Engineering Operations teams, third‑party suppliers, and internal stakeholders to deliver innovative, compliant, and commercially impactful solutions. You’ll combine deep technical understanding of systems with strong analysis and service mapping skills to identify opportunities, shape strategy, and drive delivery.
The role:
- Ensure our insurance technologies and infrastructure remain compliant, cost efficient, and customer centric.
- Maintain alignment with legal, regulatory, and industry standards for Insurance products.
- Support the long‑term Technology strategy for Tesco Insurance – including technology capabilities, and strategic roadmap.
- Manage Technology‑related risks and ensure effective controls are in place.
- Support incident resolution and improvements that reduce and mitigate future reoccurrence.
- Contribute to internal product governance processes including periodic reviews and approvals.
- Creating a roadmap for tooling and automation improvements and ongoing maintenance.
What we’re looking for:
Essential:- Proven experience as a Product Owner in a technology driven environment.
- Demonstrated ability to define product vision, strategy, and roadmaps aligned to business outcomes.
- Experience of Data driven decision making using data insights, KPIs, and analytics to measure product performance and influence priorities.
- Good understanding of DevOps toolsets, Cloud Services (AWS and Azure) infrastructure and application support.
- Experience working closely with Engineering teams to deliver scalable, secure and robust solutions.
- Knowledge of architecture and engineering best practices.
- Good knowledge of continuous integration and continuous delivery practices.
- Experience engaging with stakeholders to understand needs, translate requirements into technical deliverables, and manage expectations.
