What you'll be doing
It’s an exciting time in our business. In your role you’ll provide end to end solution design leadership across change initiatives, ensuring that technology solutions are secure, compliant, scalable, and cost effective while aligning to enterprise architecture standards and business outcomes. Operating within SAFe Agile (across ARTs and value streams), you’ll translate business epics and features into coherent solution architectures, manage solution intent, govern non‑functional requirements (NFRs) and support incremental delivery through PI Planning and enabler work. The role balances hands on design with governance, partnering with Product, Engineering, Cyber, Data, and Compliance to deliver resilient, customer centric change that meets FCA/PRA, UK GDPR, and operational resilience expectations.
We need you to have:
- Big Picture Thinking – Understands how all the parts of a system fit together — from apps and data to infrastructure — and designs solutions that work across the business.
- Strong Communication – Can explain complex technical ideas in simple terms to both technical teams and business stakeholders.
- Collaboration & Leadership – Works closely with product managers, engineers, and other teams to guide decisions and keep projects on track.
- Agile & SAFe Experience – Comfortable working in Agile environments, especially within the SAFe framework, including planning and delivering in short, focused cycles.
- Problem Solving – Quickly identifies challenges and finds practical, secure, and scalable solutions that meet business needs.
- Cloud Knowledge – Understands how to design systems using cloud platforms (like Microsoft Azure), ensuring they are secure, cost‑effective, and reliable.
- Security & Compliance Awareness – Designs systems that protect customer data and meet UK financial regulations, including FCA, GDPR, and operational resilience standards.
- Focus on Quality & Performance – Ensures systems are fast, reliable, and easy to maintain, with clear plans for monitoring, support, and future growth.
