Office Attendance– Our roles are hybrid; however, you should be able to travel to an office, 2 days per week for this position.

You’ll have the opportunity to help lead and shape the success of Tesco’s Pet Insurance business, leveraging the unique opportunity we have as part of the wider Tesco Group. You’ll be the focal point for all Trade management and Commercial activities, leading a cross‑functional team where you will be working closely with our wider Insurance teams, strategic external partners and reporting to the Senior Commercial Manager for Pet Insurance.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Trade management of Tesco’s Pet Insurance business, including analysis of all trade KPIs and factors influencing run rates; collaborating with teams across IMS as well our external partners to understand and identify trends; developing activity plans to improve, optimise and maintain strong trading performance across new business and renewals.
  • Commercial planning & forecasting, including annual planning and budgeting processes through to benefit realisation. You will also be responsible for evaluating and tracking business benefits through post implementation reviews.
  • Working closely with our strategic, external partners to ensure an inclusive, co‑ordinated and aligned approach to all elements of commercial planning and delivery.
  • Creating a roadmap for Pet Insurance commercial initiatives that are aligned to our planning assumptions, working closely with internal and external functions to deliver against commercial targets.
  • Collaborating with wider teams such as Marketing, Pricing and Finance to collate and size market opportunities / threats to develop plans to deliver benefit and mitigate risks for our customers and the business.

We need you to have:

  • Commercial acumen & knowledge of the General Insurance market (preferably Pet Insurance) – understanding the business environment and objectives to develop solutions without supervision & confidence to make sense of complex, high quantity, and sometimes contradictory information to support decision making and effectively solve problems.
  • Strong relationship / partnership management experience to build and maintain strong, high performing and collaborative relationships with strategic, external partners as well as internal, cross‑functional teams.
  • Ability to understand and articulate complex commercial issues in a way that can be easily understood by a wide range of stakeholders at different levels of the organisation.
  • Experience in Trade and Performance management & Annual Planning processes, preferably within a General Insurance, partnership context.
  • Experience working with data to drive insight‑led decision making, including market research and analysis.
  • Understanding and appreciation for Risk and Controls frameworks within a regulated industry with demonstrable ability to deliver customer first solutions that fulfil our Consumer Duty commitments.
  • Ability to work efficiently within Microsoft Office, including Excel & PowerPoint to create relevant and effective reports using various data sources, analysing data trends to help guide decision making.
