Maintenance Engineer - Automation

An exciting new role within our Property Function! We are seeking a skilled and motivated Automation Technician to join our team. In this role, you will prioritize maintaining and repairing brand-new equipment, applying your technical expertise to ensure outstanding performance and continuous improvement. A passion for customer service is essential, as you will understand the impact of your decisions and the efficiency of your maintenance work, operating within your training and experience to ensure a safe environment for all.

You will maintain and repair cutting-edge equipment in your nominated Urban Fulfilment Centre (UFC), utilizing your experience and technical knowledge. You will ensure that equipment operates in its optimum state through regular inspections, completing maintenance tasks in accordance with good engineering practice, and striving to improve the equipment where possible.

• Complete maintenance to a high standard, ensuring issues are either immediately repaired or logged for future attention.
• Operate with safety as a priority, dynamically risk-assessing all jobs to ensure safety for yourself and others.
• Build effective relationships with colleagues and stakeholders across departments, supporting operational needs.
• Supervise site performance to ensure efficiency, understanding metrics such as availability and performance, and using various tools to monitor these.
• Manage time proactively to maximize value to customers, seeking continuous improvement opportunities.
• Document findings for major breakdowns/outages, utilizing root cause analysis methods.
• Assist in managing the site’s maintenance budget by working efficiently and testing replaced equipment for future use.
• Maintain accurate records in the CMMS and complete shift reports to a high standard.
• Support budget management by tracking spares and hours used.

• Hands-on experience working within an engineering/maintenance department on highly automated equipment.
• Electrical and mechanical cross-skilling.
• Strong problem-solving and root cause analysis skills.
