Tesco Sourcing has been responsible for sourcing Tesco's non-food products from across the world since 1977. We deliver fashion and home products with great value in mind for our customers.
Our headquarters are in Hong Kong, and we have hubs based in China (Shanghai), India, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka and Turkey. We also have colleagues based within our offices in the UK and Central Europe, as well as smaller teams in Vietnam, Cambodia and Pakistan.
We are recruiting for a Global Sourcing Manager for Home (11-Month Secondment) based in the UK.
About the role
Join our Strategic Sourcing team, part of the wider Non‑Food Sourcing Commercial function, where you'll play a key role in shaping Tesco's global supplier partnerships and driving long‑term sourcing excellence. Based in Welwyn Garden City, this team acts as the vital link between UK Buying and our global sourcing hubs, ensuring the products we deliver consistently meet customer expectations on quality, value and responsibility.
Reporting into the Hong Kong-based Head of Strategy, Risk & Assurance, you'll partner closely with UK category teams to oversee our supply base, provide commercial and analytical insight, and strengthen supply resilience in a rapidly evolving market. You'll be instrumental in embedding our global sourcing strategy across Home and Clothing, making strong analytical skills, exceptional stakeholder management and deep sourcing expertise essential.

You will be responsible for:
Strategy- Taking oversight of the overall shape of our supply base across all Home categories
- Facilitating PGRs, supplier categorisation and provoke exploration and solutions to strategic challenges (e.g. contingency risks, regional over-exposure, supplier performance)
- Creating forums and coordinate stakeholders for alignment and decision making on strategic supplier agenda
- Collaborating with Global Sourcing team on strategic change projects, re-source plans and evolution of supplier strategy
- Implementing & executing delivery of global sourcing tools and processes with UK commercial & country/regional sourcing teams
- Coordinating and reporting against supply base activity (supplier data, on-boards and exits, supplier roll) and supplier performance
- Driving continuous improvement of our sourcing processes and how we interact with category teams and our supplier partners
- Supporting & coordinating central supplier activity (e.g. SBR or B4L)
- Co-ordinating & centralising supplier facing engagement/requests across global sourcing teams
- Coordinating Supplier Scorecard reporting
- Tracking progress against supplier partnership plans

You will need:
- Experience working in a global or regional sourcing role within an international retail or consumer‑goods organisation
- Knowledge of Home categories and related sourcing routes
- Experience evaluating alternative sourcing countries for specific product types (e.g., capability, capacity, cost structures)
- Strong commercial and analytical capability, with the ability to interpret data, assess risks and provide insight‑driven recommendations
- Experience managing cross‑functional, cross-cultural stakeholders and influencing at different levels, both internally and externally
- Strong problem‑solving skills, with the ability to evaluate options, make sound decisions and identify opportunities for improvement
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to simplify complex information for different audiences
- High attention to detail, strong numeracy and proficiency in Microsoft Office tools, particularly Excel and PowerPoint
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities and deliver at pace in a dynamic environment
- Knowledge of emerging sourcing markets, diversification strategies and supplier‑capability mapping
- Experience leading cross‑market projects or working closely with global hubs
