Technical Engineering Support (TES) is an engineering company created over 30 years ago, specializing in the coordination of tests and industrial commissioning. TES also supports its customers in participating in studies and coordinating the assembly of industrial equipment. As part of our activity, we have a position to fill as Cost Engineer to integrate the EPR2 Hinkley-Point U.K. project.
Overview: As part of the Integrated Project Controls team, the Cost Engineer is a key enabler for the successful delivery of Hinkley Point C. Reporting to the Senior Cost Engineer, you will operate within a matrix organization to provide a "single source of truth" regarding delivery performance across various project programmes (Engineering, Construction, MEH, etc.). This role is vital for maintaining stakeholder confidence through integrated baseline delivery and milestone achievement.
Core Responsibilities:
- Data Management: Produce and maintain accurate cost and forecast data aligned with the Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) and Cost Breakdown Structure (CBS).
- Reporting: Coordinate and produce regular cost and forecasting reports, including detailed commentary on performance drivers and time-related issues.
- Analysis & Insight: Provide analytical support to Senior Cost Engineers by interpreting technical and financial data to facilitate robust decision-making.
- Trend & Change: Assist in the Trend & Change process, analyzing project-level risks and opportunities.
- Systems Oversight: Maintain all cost data within specialized software systems such as EcoSys and SAP.
- Governance: Ensure compliance with project controls principles and EDF policies, specifically regarding the protection of Sensitive Nuclear Information.
Key Skills: High attention to detail, strong analytical and problem-solving skills, and the ability to communicate complex unique insights simply to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Technical Proficiency: Ability to use Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and specialized tools like EcoSys, Power BI, and SAP.
Education: Minimum of an HND or equivalent in project management, project controls, engineering, or a related field.
Experience: Demonstrable experience in project controls and a Project Management environment. Experience in major construction or the nuclear industry is desirable but not mandatory.
