The Site Commissioning Engineer manages and executes commissioning activities for data centre projects, ensuring that mission‑critical systems are installed, tested, integrated, and handed over safely and efficiently with a satisfied customer.
About The Role
Key Responsibilities
- Develop commissioning plans, procedures, and schedules which align with clients commissioning schedules
- Review design documents, specifications, and construction drawings.
- Coordinate commissioning activities with contractors, consultants, and clients.
- Support risk assessments and method statements.
- System Testing and Validation
- Carry out, witness and verify factory acceptance tests (FATs) and site acceptance tests (SATs).
• Perform pre-functional and functional testing of
- Electrical systems (switchgear, transformers, UPS systems, generators, PDUs).
- Mechanical systems (chillers, CRAH/CRAC units, cooling towers, pumps).
- Building Management Systems (BMS).
- Electrical Power Monitoring Systems (EPMS).
- Fire detection and suppression systems.
- Execute integrated systems testing (IST).
- Quality Assurance
• Ensure systems comply with
- Project specifications.
- Client requirements.
- Industry standards and regulations.
- Identify defects and manage resolution through commissioning trackers.
- Coordination and Reporting
• Coordinate with
- Construction teams.
- Equipment vendors.
- Design consultants.
- Operations teams.
- Prepare commissioning reports and test documentation.
- Track progress against commissioning schedules.
- Handover and Closeout
- Verify completion of all commissioning activities.
- Compile operation and maintenance (O&M) documentation.
- Support client training and final handover.
- Ensure all systems are ready for live operation.
