We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Trust Safeguarding Lead to lead and oversee safeguarding practices across all schools within our Trust. This is a pivotal role that ensures our safeguarding policies, procedures, and culture are robust, consistent, and effective in protecting our vulnerable learners and young people.
What We Are Looking For
- Proven experience in safeguarding and child protection in a regulated environment.
- In-depth knowledge of statutory safeguarding guidance and best practice.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to lead training and influence safeguarding culture across multiple sites.
- Commitment to continuous improvement and professional integrity.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the strategic development and implementation of safeguarding policies and practices across the Trust.
- Act as the Trust’s Safeguarding Lead, providing expert advice and support to Designated Safeguarding Leads (DSLs) and senior leaders.
- Ensure compliance with statutory guidance and respond to legislative changes.
- Design and deliver safeguarding training for staff, governors, and trustees.
- Conduct regular audits and quality assurance of safeguarding systems, including SCR reviews and safer recruitment practices.
- Support academies during Ofsted inspections and in managing safeguarding concerns and referrals.
- Liaise with external agencies including local authorities, police, and health services.
- Produce evaluative reports highlighting Trust-wide safeguarding trends and best practices.
- Lead the Trust Safeguarding Network and facilitate cross-school collaboration.
