Overview
Birkenhead Sixth Form College is seeking a dedicated and outstanding teacher to join the Sport Team. This is a permanent part-time position (0.75 FTE) over 5 days. The Sport department offers qualifications at A-level and BTEC; over 160 students study sport-related courses, and there are two full-time teachers in the team. Due to growth in student numbers, there is a likelihood this role may become full-time in the future. The ideal candidate will have a strong passion for Physical Education and be able to teach A Level P.E. (AQA) and BTEC Applied Sport (Pearson).
Responsibilities
- Deliver highly effective lessons that are evidence-based and engage learners, maximizing performance in both exam and practical elements of the course.
- Teach A Level P.E. (AQA) and BTEC Applied Sport (Pearson).
- Inspire students inside and outside the classroom and contribute to the college’s enrichment programme.
- Utilise department facilities (e.g., newly extended Multi Gym and Sports Hall) for practical elements of the course.
