Overview
We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Teacher of Girls PE to join our fantastic team at CHS South. This is a full time, fixed term contract for 12 months starting January 2026 or earlier. The role is offered on the MPS-UPS pay scale.
We’re Looking For
You will need to be qualified to teach and work in the UK with successful experience in the 11-16 phase. You will need to have thorough subject knowledge and an understanding of current curriculum developments in Physical Education, you will also be a good communicator with the ability to develop effective working relationships.
You will have the ability to deliver quality PE teaching that drives achievement and inspires a love of learning. You will be able to demonstrate experience of achieving positive outcomes for pupils, as well as being passionate about making a difference to the lives of young people. As a committed team player, you will have excellent organisational skills and the natural ability to motivate both pupils and peers.
Main Purpose Of The Job
As Teacher of Physical Education you will promote physical development, teamwork and a strong sports culture across the school, improving the standards of learning and raising levels of student achievement. You will be expected to match the characteristics described in the Professional Standards for Teachers and required to fulfil the professional responsibilities which are common to all classroom teachers.
Key Responsibilities Will Include
- To plan, prepare and deliver engaging and effective PE learning activities across school
- Foster an inclusive environment where every student\\\’s unique needs and strengths are acknowledged and supported
- Organise and lead extracurricular activities, including PE and sports clubs and physical fitness events such as sports day
- Maintain a safe and supportive environment, ensuring students are always adhering to health and safety guidelines
- Work closely with colleagues to contribute to the wider school community and promote a holistic approach to student development
