Millfield School is looking to appoint two friendly, reliable, and customer-focused individuals to join our School Shop team as Shop Assistants. These roles offer a fantastic opportunity to work in a vibrant and supportive school environment, assisting with the day-to-day running of a busy retail outlet that serves pupils, parents, staff, and departments.

As a Shop Assistant, you will be responsible for providing outstanding customer service and ensuring the smooth operation of the shop. Duties include:

  • Processing sales
  • Reconciling daily takings
  • Unpacking and checking stock
  • Maintaining stock levels and displays
  • Assisting with lost property
  • Conducting pupil uniform kit-outs
  • Supporting stock checks and stock takes
  • Helping with online orders and stationery supplies

Confidence in advising customers on sporting equipment and a good level of product knowledge will be an advantage. Full training in shop procedures, including EPOS and online systems, will be provided. You will also be required to open and close the shop when necessary.

There are two part-time positions available:

  • Position 1 requires working from 7.45am to 1.15pm on Tuesdays and Fridays, and every other Saturday from 7.45am to 12.15pm, plus an additional 110 hours during non-term time. The salary for this role is £7,438.14 per annum.
  • Position 2 involves working from 7.45am to 1.15pm on Wednesdays and Thursdays, and every other Saturday from 7.45am to 12.15pm, during term time only, along with 110 hours in non-term time. The salary for this role is £7,515.18 per annum.
