Job Overview
The Personalised Curriculum Centre (PCC) incorporates both AEN and EAL departments, with a wider remit to support all pupils across the school both academically and pastorally. It lies at the heart of the school and has been identified as βA major feature and strength of the School, where pupils are supported and encouraged to develop an independent learning spirit.β (ISI 2023).
The Department is staffed by experienced, specialist teachers, all with a huge understanding of additional educational needs. The children are taught in small groups, developing their learning across the curriculum. This position requires a person of high calibre and with experience in addressing the needs of children with variations in development, particularly those arising from dyslexia. The candidate will be qualified to Level 5 Following a superb redesign and major refurbishment of the department, we are now looking to consolidate and reshape the staffing structure to provide even greater support for pupils across many areas.
Experience and an ability to support EAL pupils would be considered an added strength. We are looking for someone who is patient, understanding, innovative, collaborative and has a willingness to become involved in the many aspects of the PCC Department.
This is a full-time role at Millfield Prep School starting 1 September 2025 or January 2026.
