Job Overview

We have an opportunity to join our experienced pastoral team in the capacity of a Pastoral Support Officer. We are looking for someone who shares our vision and who will support our students to access school and their education with equity, fairness and safety, ensuring each child has the opportunity to develop educationally, physically, emotionally, socially and spiritually to their full potential.

In this role, you will work 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday, typically from 8.00am to 4.00pm with a 30-minute unpaid break each day.

We will provide you with a range of bespoke opportunities to support your career and ongoing professional development. At Northampton School for Girls, we are committed to caring for and supporting the development and growth of all our school community, students and staff alike.

Northampton School for Girls (NSG) is a state-funded, comprehensive school on the outskirts of Northampton. Our school community is multi-faith and multi-cultural, with students coming from rural and urban settings. We continue to be one of the best schools in Northamptonshire, and this is reflected in the high standards and expectations we set for both staff and students.

We seek high-quality applications from a wide spectrum of talented people, acknowledging that diversity in our staffing enriches our NSG community and the learning experience for our students. We are working to create an inclusive culture where people can be themselves and are empowered to do their best.

If you have any questions, please email us: people@nsg.northants.sch.uk.

For further information, please visit: www.nsg.northants.sch.uk/vacancies/.

Applications are accepted via the school application form (available on the vacancies page) or via TES Quick Apply. Please contact the school if you need to request the application form in an alternative format.

Closing date: 9.00am on Monday, 7th July 2025

We would encourage you to submit your application as soon as you are able, as we reserve the right to act on received applications before the closing date has passed.

The school is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff to share this commitment.

The successful applicant will be expected to undertake a criminal records check via the Disclosure & Barring Service, the cost of which will be met by NSG. Details of our safer recruitment policy can be found in the school policies section of our website.

Shortlisted candidates who accept our invitation to interview may be subject to an online search conducted by the school, as recommended by KCSIE 2023. This will not affect the shortlisting process, and there will be the opportunity at interview to address any issues of concern that come up during the search. #J-18808-Ljbffr
