Hall Grove School seeks to appoint a full-time inspirational teacher as Head of Senior English to start in January 2026 in this leading co-educational day and boarding prep school. It is an exciting time as we open a new senior school, with the first Year 9 pupils starting in September 2025 and sitting GCSEs in May 2027, so it is a wonderful opportunity for the right candidate to lead the English department through an exciting phase of development.
The successful candidate will bring their passion and energy for the subject to the classroom, engage and enthuse pupils of all abilities, and inspire the department through their confident and collegiate style. They will lead the senior English department from Years 5 to 9 and then up to GCSE as the senior school expands, and work closely with the Head of Junior English, the Deputy Head Academic and the Head of Academic Support & Enrichment to develop the teaching of English across the school for children of all abilities. They will take responsibility for the Declamations competition and will provide scholarship extension lessons for scholarship candidates. They may be required to teach other subjects, according to experience and need, and to be a Form Teacher and/or Academic Tutor.
