Job Overview

At Sherborne Boys, our Custodian team plays a vital role in supporting the security and welfare of our pupils, staff, residents, and visitors. As a Custodian, you’ll be a trusted and approachable presence across the School, often providing the first impression for those arriving on site.

This varied and rewarding role includes responsibilities such as security monitoring (including CCTV), managing access control systems, welcoming visitors, supporting school events, responding to incidents, overseeing parking, and handling post distribution. Above all, our Custodians embody a calm, knowledgeable, and benevolent approach—contributing to the smooth running and positive atmosphere of our School community.

Hours of Work: 40 hours per week as per the staff rota. Shift patterns are likely to be 6.30am until 2.30pm or 2.30pm until 10.30pm (less a 30-minute unpaid break to be taken in accordance with the business demands).

Salary: £27,164.80 per annum plus an annual on-call allowance of £1,606.42.
