Terumo BCT Ltd, based in Larne, manufactures a range of sterile fluids used in both human and veterinary healthcare. We are looking for a motivated Laboratory Analyst to join our Chemistry Laboratory team and play a key role in ensuring the quality, safety and compliance of our pharmaceutical products.
This is an excellent opportunity for a chemistry graduate or experienced laboratory professional seeking to develop their analytical expertise within a highly regulated pharmaceutical manufacturing environment. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work with a range of analytical techniques and contribute to continuous improvement, validation and quality initiatives across the business.

Duties will include:
As a Laboratory Analyst, you'll be responsible for carrying out a broad range of analytical activities that directly support product quality and regulatory compliance. Key responsibilities include:
- Performing laboratory analysis based on documented analytical methods and procedures.
- Analysis to the appropriate test specification of raw materials, finished goods and any other routine and non-routine analysis as required.
- Participate in process validation work linked to routine manufacture of pharmaceuticals.
- Carry out routine internal calibration activities of laboratory equipment and ensure that all such equipment is maintained in good working order.
- Contribute to the writing of specifications, analytical methods and validation of methods.
- Contribute and participate in ongoing continuous improvement initiatives
- Assist in meeting ongoing metric driven goals and KPIs
- Maintain neat and accurate analysis records.
- Organising and prioritising own workloads to meet deadlines
- Support H&S and COSSH tasks as and when required
- Participating in periodic Reference Standard and chemical stock checks
- Undertake analytical training courses, where necessary, to develop key skills deemed critical to business needs.
Applicants must possess:
- Degree in Chemistry or a closely related scientific discipline, or equivalent relevant industry experience including HND or other chemistry-related higher level qualifications.
- Experience working within an analytical laboratory environment.
- Good understanding of Good Laboratory Practice (GLP).
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work to challenging deadlines.
- Flexible approach to working hours, including overtime and shift work when required.
Desirable Criteria:
Experience or knowledge in any of the following areas would be advantageous:
- Pharmaceutical manufacturing or quality control environments.
- Analytical method development and validation.
- Equipment calibration and qualification.
- HPLC, GC, Atomic Absorption (AA), UV Spectroscopy, FTIR and Potentiometric Titration.
- ICH Quality Guidelines and validation requirements.
