We have an exciting opportunity for an Assistant Financial Controller t o join Terumo BCT- Larne. Come join us today! We are seeking a proactive and analytical Assistant Financial Controller to take ownership of the management and cost accounting for Terumo BCT Ltd. Larne. In this key role, you will work closely with our Operational teams, acting as a trusted business partner to deliver timely support, insights, and actionable analytics. Your contributions will help drive continuous improvement and operational excellence across the organisation. Reporting to the Controller in Larne, you will also serve as the finance lead in their absenceplaying a pivotal role in guiding financial decisions and ensuring alignment with strategic objectives. ESSENTIAL DUTIES Responsible for full variance analysis on a monthly basis across manufacturing operations, ensuring full understanding of the drivers and insights are gained for future cost control and efficiency improvements. Responsible for 12-month forecasts, ensuring deviations from prior & Budget are understood, and variances are resolved with relevant stakeholders in a timely manner. Responsible for managing the Operations budget from planning to execution, ensuring information is collated and reconciled, and is presented out in a manner that is relevant and understood by non-finance executives. Managing the annual standard costing process, working in in partnership with operations and supply chain, ensuring accuracy and robustness in the process. Co-responsible for the smooth running of the annual physical inventory account, with all variances understood and result transacted in a timely manner in consultation with our external auditors. Support with cost build-up models with new tenders, being able flex models for What-if scenario planning. Being a core member of the operational excellence team, ensuring regular cadence is part of the core role and the accuracy in cost savings for each project are justified. Acting as a SAP super-user for the Larne site, ensuring that we are utilizing the ERP to the best of our ability, and supporting/lead new developments. Acting in co-ordination with Finance Business Partner, to support the site with regard business analytics, pushing the boundaries with Power BI, business warehouses and AI tools. Approving and auditing bank payments in tandem with the Controller. Back-up/Ad-hoc support on Banking & AP management maybe required during busy/holiday periods. Responsible for the integrity and accuracy of the accounting and financial reporting of the Terumo BCT Ltd. legal entity, including statutory financial reporting and audits thereof by external/internal auditors. Support cross-functional efforts with Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Quality, HR and others to drive efficiency and effectiveness in the organization through LEAN processes and maximum utilization of data and software tools. Maintain relationships with colleagues in Terumo and explore and share best practices and work jointly on system and other process improvements. Co-ordinating with other finance colleagues compliance with Terumo BCT policies & procedures and developing local SOPs to ensure alignment. Ownership of continuous development across finance, in particular supporting system improvements/ integrations. Back-up/Ad-hoc support on Banking & AP management maybe required during busy/holiday periods. Business partner of Commercial Director to drive the reporting cycle across revenue & standard margin, using latest business analytics tools, such as Power BI. MINIMUM QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS Education ACCA, ACA, CIMA qualified Experience Minimum 5 years of experience in a financial role. Experience within a manufacturing firm is a is preferable Experience with financial statement preparation and related audits for statutory reporting highly preferred. Experience with SAP as an ERP system is preferable. A must/pre-requisite is superior excel modelling skills Skills Strong understanding and experience in general accounting of broad business transactions and their impacts to the manufacturing operations areas of the organization. Knowledge and experience of technical knowledge of the accounting requirements and practices generated by statutory or reporting standards. Ability to communicate financial information clearly and simply to a non-financial audience. Proven ability to drive process change through an organization resulting in LEAN efficiency and effectiveness. Ability to professionally handle confidential material and associated issues. Ability to work cross functionally in a collaborative team-oriented environment, especially with Operations leaders and colleagues within other Finance functions. Ability to independently set and accomplish objectives and sets priorities in area of responsibility. Knowledge and use of relevant Microsoft applications and skills to use them effectively (Excel, Power Point, Power BI). Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing. Certificates, Licenses, Registrations Chartered Accountant and/or Certified Management Accountant designation preferred, or an equivalent competency level acquired through a variation of these qualifications may be considered.
