We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Process Lead to oversee and guide our manufacturing operations within the pharmaceutical medical devices sector. The ideal candidate will have worked in a highly regulated environment. They will overseeing daily operations, ensuring production targets are met and supporting continuous improvement initiatives.

The role will have a strong focus on people leadership, ensuring optimal team performance, fostering professional growth, and maintaining compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices and safety regulations.

The role will play a pivotal role in building a high-performing team, driving process efficiency, and ensuring the delivery of high-quality products to our customers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in leading, coaching, and developing a diverse team of process operators to achieve high levels of productivity, quality, adherence to environmental, health and safety, to their full potential.
  • In line with our Company Values, foster a culture of inclusion, collaboration, and accountability, to motivate your team of process operators to drive productivity improvements and improve quality (reduction of rejects and complaints) daily.
  • Ensure your team of process operators have completed their training on time and comply with all standard operating procedures.
  • Support the ongoing development of staff through regular coaching and feedback.
  • Assist in the training and development of new team members, ensuring they are familiar with production processes, procedures, safety standards, and GMP regulations
  • Act as the first point of contact for team-related concerns, ensuring timely resolution while promoting a positive workplace environment.
  • Conduct interviews with process operators returning to work after sickness absence and leave for dependents. Address unacceptable levels / patterns of absence. Seek guidance where necessary.
  • Conduct investigations in line with Company Disciplinary Procedure. Seek guidance where necessary.
  • Support Production Managers during disciplinary hearings as and when required.

Process and Operations

  • Oversee and monitor daily manufacturing activities of your process operators, ensuring adherence to production schedules and targets. Identify and resolve any issues that may arise.
  • Proactively participate in all tiered meetings and shift handovers, providing updates on performance, safety, operational priorities and action taken to address any issues.
  • Develop Stock Control Procedures-Implement and Cross check inventory Control.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (e.g., Quality Assurance, Engineering, Supply Chain) to ensure seamless operations and address challenges.
  • Drive compliance with GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices), SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures), and industry regulations.
  • Monitor and improve operational efficiency by identifying and addressing process bottlenecks.
  • Set the Standard by Minimising “Waste” by teaching employees how to use the machines efficiently, saving cost and time, and adding value to the product.
  • Implement and promote lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement initiatives including daily management of 5S in all areas of the manufacturing facility.

Safety

  • Maintain and promote a safe work environment by ensuring adherence to health, safety, and environmental standards and guidelines.
  • Conduct regular safety checks and risk assessments to promptly address any findings to minimise hazards.
  • Ensure that the manufacturing site is free of any form of danger and is safe for team members to do their job.
  • Ensure that all process operators have the necessary PPE to safeguard themselves in their work environment

Quality

  • Ensure that all products are manufactured according to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) by enforcing adherence to standard operating procedures (SOPs), conducting inspections, and maintaining compliance with safety and quality processes.

Metrics and Reporting

  • Accountable for real time reporting such as SAP and time management system to ensure that key manufacturing metrics are analysed and communicated daily.
  • Collect, analyse, and report key performance metrics (e.g., production yield, downtime, efficiency) to production management for continuous tracking and process improvement.

Skills and Competencies:

  • Minimum secondary-level education, possessing good numeracy and literacy skills
  • Demonstrated leader, supervisory or management experience
  • Proven track record of experience in a production role, in a manufacturing environment
  • Experience of working in a Good Manufacturing Practice environment or similar
  • Experience of adhering to Health & Safety procedures
  • Third Level education in a science or engineering based subject
  • Experience working in medical device or pharmaceutical environment
  • Detail-Oriented : High attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining quality and safety standards.
  • Problem Solving : Strong analytical skills with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex manufacturing issues.
  • Adaptability : Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities and demands.
  • Teamwork : Collaborative mindset with the ability to work cross-functionally and build effective relationships.
  • Communication¨ Strong verbal and written communication skills (including the use of PC skills) to effectively interact with team members, management, and cross-functional teams.
