We are seeking a talented and driven Product Development Engineer to join our cross‑functional R&D team, contributing to the design and development of innovative Class III medical devices. In this role, you will translate design inputs into robust product solutions that meet performance, manufacturability, regulatory and quality requirements.
You will play a key part in the full product lifecycle—from early concept evaluation through to verification, documentation and transfer to manufacturing—working closely with Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, Clinical Services, Marketing, and healthcare professionals.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop new product designs based on defined inputs, ensuring alignment with performance, manufacturability, regulatory, and quality standards
- Participate in innovation activities, including concept creation and evaluation
- Lead component and device design activities, including CAD modelling, material selection, BOM creation, and supplier engagement
- Generate fully dimensioned 3D CAD drawings (Solid Edge / SolidWorks)
- Conduct design-related risk analysis including Design FMEA
- Define design verification protocols, perform data analysis, and prepare technical reports
- Ensure all design activities comply with Design Control requirements and are fully documented
- Collaborate with internal departments to support knowledge transfer and smooth product transition
- Liaise with customers—including surgeons and medical professionals—to define requirements and gather feedback
- Plan and coordinate Core Team activities to achieve project milestones
- Lead discussions at Design Reviews and provide updates on project progress, risks, timelines, and costs
- Take ownership of delivering assigned projects in line with agreed objectives
- Maintain audit readiness and support Quality Management System (QMS) compliance
- Contribute to maintaining high standards of Health, Safety & Environmental compliance
About You

Essential Qualifications & Experience
- Degree (BSc or equivalent) in Mechanical Engineering, Product Design Engineering, or related field
- Previous experience in engineering design or product development within Industry
- Proven ability in component/device design and development
- Experience with medical devices (particularly Class III) is advantageous
- Strong 3D CAD skills (Solid Edge or SolidWorks)
- Understanding of Design Control, Quality Systems, and documentation requirements
- Experience generating FMEAs
- Clear and confident communication skills
- Strong organisational skills and ability to work to project deadlines
- Effective decision‑making and presentation skills (MS PowerPoint)
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team
