Location: Sunbury-on-Thames, Surrey
Put Products to the Test We're looking for a Test Operator to join our engineering and manufacturing team, helping ensure electro-mechanical products perform exactly as they should.
This is a hands-on role where you'll set up test equipment, carry out functional and performance testing, troubleshoot issues and accurately record results.
If you're technically minded, methodical and enjoy getting to the bottom of problems, this could be the role for you.
What You'll Be Doing
- Carry out functional, environmental and performance testing on electro-mechanical assemblies and systems.
- Set up and operate equipment including oscilloscopes, multimeters, signal generators and mechanical fixtures.
- Interpret technical drawings, electrical schematics and test procedures.
- Inspect finished products and identify faults, defects or performance issues.
- Troubleshoot test failures and support corrective actions.
- Accurately record test results, anomalies and corrective actions.
- Support engineering teams with prototype testing and product validation.
- Maintain and calibrate test equipment to ensure reliable and accurate results.
- Follow health, safety and quality procedures at all times.
- Contribute to Continuous Improvement and 5S activities within the testing environment.
- Help maintain a clean, safe and organised working area.
- Support colleagues through knowledge sharing and training where required.
- Be flexible to support other manufacturing areas when needed. What We're Looking For You'll ideally have:
- 2+ years' experience in a Test Technician, Test Operator or similar technical role.
- Experience using electrical and mechanical test equipment.
- The ability to read and understand technical drawings, schematics, CMMs and SOPs.
- A practical understanding of electro-mechanical systems.
- Good attention to detail and a methodical approach to problem solving.
- Good written and spoken English.
- Strong time-management and organisational skills.
- The ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- A professional, reliable and self-motivated attitude.
- The ability to remain calm and effective under pressure.
