A global manufacturer of high voltage electronics is seeking a Materials Handler / Stores Operative to join its busy materials team. This role is ideal for someone with experience in goods‑in, stock control, and materials handling within a manufacturing or engineering environment.
As a Materials Handler, you will support day‑to‑day logistics and stores operations, ensuring materials are accurately received, kitted, issued, and stored. You will also assist with continuous improvement initiatives and help maintain an organised, compliant warehouse in line with ISO standards.
Responsibilities- Receive, inspect, and book in materials onto the company’s computer system
- Load and unload vehicles using a Forklift Truck (FLT licence preferred)
- Prepare kitted parts for manufacturing, ensuring accuracy and traceability
- Carry out daily cycle counts and support stock accuracy initiatives
- Maintain FIFO (First In, First Out) material flow to production areas
- Support departmental KPIs and assist in developing 6S practices
- Label, store, and secure materials appropriately at all times
- Process unplanned material requirements and NCRs (non‑conformance reports)
- Recycle packaging materials and handle disposal in line with COSHH and ISO14001
- Experience in a manufacturing or engineering stores environment
- Competent in stock control and materials booking systems
- FLT licence desirable (counterbalance or reach)
- Attention to detail and good numeracy skills
- Knowledge of ISO9001/14001 principles is advantageous
