TPA Recruit is supporting a specialist electrical engineering and manufacturing business in the search for a Junior Buyer.

This is a full-time, permanent purchasing role supporting the Senior Buyer across day-to-day procurement, supplier contact, quotations, purchase orders and material delivery.

The role would suit someone with previous buying, purchasing or procurement experience who is ready to develop within a busy manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Issue tenders and requests for quotations to suppliers and subcontract service providers.
  • Support supplier selection, pricing discussions, quality standards and required delivery dates.
  • Place purchase orders for components, materials, services and non-manufacturing requirements.
  • Expedite supplier deliveries, review planned delivery dates and flag supply risks early.
  • Help maintain accurate supplier lists, purchasing records and supplier details.
  • Support supply chain development to reduce single-source constraints and improve resilience. Experience Required
  • Previous experience in a similar purchasing, buying, procurement or supply chain role.
  • Confident communication skills with suppliers, colleagues and management.
  • Able to plan, co-ordinate and follow through tasks accurately.
  • Computer literate, with Progress Plus or Sage experience advantageous but not essential.
  • Assertive, organised and precise, with the confidence to follow up suppliers and take ownership.
