Permanent – onsite based

It will be full time, 37.5 hours p/w and office based with the rest of the team. Salary will depend on experience, £35 to 38k.

This role is one of a number of engineers working as part of the engineering team and is office based. The team is responsible for translating sales information into detailed manufacturing designs & instructions.

Job purpose: To work as part of a team of engineers & technicians developing a wide range of control systems. The engineer is responsible for all technical, quality & safety aspects of a project.

Key Responsibilities / Accountabilities:

  • Develop the distribution & control scheme for a project in line with the information provided from sales, ensuring that it meets the contract requirements.
  • Liaise with customers to achieve all objectives.
  • Attend meetings as necessary.
  • Formulate component schedules, bin lists, sheet steel orders & variation requests in line with the department instructions.
  • Provide comprehensive information to mechanical design, to enable special items to be developed quickly & efficiently.
  • Hold internal review meetings as required to ensure the project is processed as efficiently as possible & on time.
  • Provide all necessary technical information on a project to engineering administration to allow compilation of the O&M manual.
  • Provide technical assistance to sales/estimating as required.
  • A flexible approach to working is required by all staff to facilitate the smooth operation of the engineering office & support the overall needs of the company. Therefore, as deemed necessary by the Principal Engineer, staff may be requested to undertake tasks outside their immediate remit.

General Responsibilities:

  • Be self-motivated, positive and conscientious inside and outside immediate team.
  • Maintain good working relationships both internally with colleagues and where appropriate with external customers and stakeholders.
  • Support and enhance environmental sustainability and health and safety objectives.
