TPA Recruit is supporting Hanover Displays in the search for an SMT Process Technician to join their SMT department at an exciting stage of growth and technological change. This SMT Process Technician position will suit a practical, hands-on SMT professional who can support process machinery, minimise downtime, maintain quality standards and contribute to continuous improvement across a busy electronics manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities- Maintain, service and repair SMT process machinery to minimise downtime while protecting quality standards
- Create and control equipment programmes as instructed
- Support process changes, layout improvements and production flow across the facility
- Contribute to improvement meetings, new equipment justification and continuous process development
- Maintain close working relationships with equipment suppliers and engineers
- Train new machine operators and provide operational cover where required
- Keep work areas safe, tidy and hazard-free in line with health and safety procedures
- Good attention to detail and a practical, methodical approach to prioritising work
- Strong organisation skills and the ability to multitask under pressure
- High standards of professionalism, work ethic and housekeeping
- Flexible approach to daily tasks, training and hands-on support when required
- Positive communication skills and the ability to work with internal teams and external equipment suppliers
- SMT screen printing, pick and place, conveyors and transfers, reflow soldering and AOI
- Selective soldering, process flow, fluxes, solder paste, solder bar and other process materials
- Oven profiling, work instructions, procedures and engineering documentation
- Soldering experience and the ability to train new operators when required
- Collecting, manipulating and presenting process data using spreadsheets to support analysis and conclusions
- 25 days annual leave, increasing with length of service up to 30 days, plus bank holidays
