We are seeking a skilled PLC Programmer to support the design, development, and commissioning of control systems for low-volume, high-value capital equipment. This role involves close collaboration with engineering and production teams, as well as hands-on work at customer sites worldwide.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, program, and test PLC control systems for bespoke capital equipment
  • Design and implement HMI/SCADA interfaces where required
  • Support electrical and controls design, including I/O mapping and documentation
  • Commission systems in-house and at customer sites, including overseas installations
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues during build, test, and field operation
  • Collaborate with mechanical, electrical, and software engineers to deliver integrated solutions
  • Produce and maintain technical documentation (functional specifications, test procedures, user manuals)
  • Provide technical support and training to customers and internal teams

Required Skills & Experience

  • Proven experience programming PLCs (e.g., Siemens, Allen-Bradley, or equivalent)
  • Strong understanding of industrial automation, control systems, and electrical schematics
  • Experience working with low-volume or custom-built machinery preferred
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
  • Familiarity with fieldbus networks (e.g., Profinet, EtherNet/IP, Modbus)
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Willingness and ability to travel internationally

Desirable Skills

  • Experience with motion control, robotics, or vision systems
  • Knowledge of safety PLCs and functional safety standards
  • HMI/SCADA development experience
  • Experience with commissioning complex capital equipment
