TPA Recruit is supporting a specialist high-technology manufacturer in the search for a Mechanical Assembly Technician based at its purpose-built facility in Hailsham, East Sussex. This is a hands-on position assembling ultra-high-vacuum (UHV) manipulation and sample-handling equipment. The role combines precision mechanical assembly, specialist wiring, electrical testing, cleanroom working and production documentation within a low-volume, customised manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Assemble precision mechanical and electrical components into complex systems in line with engineering drawings and specifications.
- Build UHV manipulation and sample-handling sub-assemblies, pre-test data recording and quality-control evaluation.
- Complete specialist UHV-compatible instrument wiring and electrical testing.
- Maintain UHV-clean process standards for all in-vacuum components and sub-assemblies.
