Technical Sales Manager Our client supply specialist equipment designed and manufactured in-house for the Advanced Materials industry, our clients technology is sold throughout the world and offers customers research or production scale machine to process feedstock material into a range of high value-added products for the aerospace, defence, and general engineering sectors.
As a Technical Sales Manager, you will play an integral part in identifying new business whilst maximising the relationship with our existing customers.
You will work closely with the Senior Leadership team to develop and execute a sales strategy for the business.
You will use your experience and industry knowledge to maintain an up-to-date awareness of the market and our competitors and use this information to support the sales strategy.
- Job Specification & Qualifications
- Ideally educated to degree/HND level in an engineering / science subject or qualified by experience.
- Reporting to the General Manager you will bring significant experience in selling large scale capital equipment.
- Lead and manage the Commercial and Sales team, ensuring they have the skills, capabilities and processes required to drive sustainable business growth.
- Conduct technical and commercial discussions with customers at all levels.
- Develop and maintain a pipeline of sales prospects that drives top line growth.
- Manage and ensure the sales process maintains and delivers the overall business objectives for volume and overall gross margin profitability.
- To manage and oversee all sales agents acting on behalf of the Company, ensuring they deliver against business requirements and operate in accordance with their contractual obligations.
- Develop and maintain a high level of technical competence in the features and functions of the company’s products.
- Prepare technical sales proposals to a high level of technical and financial accuracy for the customer that can also be translated to flow into the organisation as supply and design requirements.
- Production of weekly sales platform & performance reports.
- Provide feedback on customers, competitors, opportunities, markets, pipeline, and other sales related activities at weekly sales reviews.
- Must possess strong interpersonal skills to facilitate close working relationships with customers, prospects, and personnel.
- Attendance required at exhibitions & conferences and international travel.
- The role is based at the Hailsham site but may involve occasional UK and overseas visits in support of our worldwide customerbase.
- Due to the natureof the work this role cannot be fulfilled by working on a remote basis.
Essentials: Full UK Driving Licence and ability to travel globally as required.
- Working Hours: 37.5 hour working week
- Holiday entitlement: 25 days (Plus, Bank holidays)
