This is a senior technical authority role responsible for the technical integrity, reliability and performance of advanced active magnetic bearing products. The successful candidate will approve complex designs and analyses, set technical standards and guide strategic product applications for critical rotating equipment. The role suits a recognised technical expert with deep active magnetic bearing, rotordynamics and advanced analysis expertise, able to support customer engagement, product development and technical governance.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as the final technical authority for product designs, analyses and critical engineering decisions.
- Define and enforce engineering standards, design rules and industry best practice.
- Lead critical design reviews and failure investigations covering performance, safety and reliability.
- Perform and guide rotordynamics, vibration analysis, FEA stress analysis and CFD.
- Provide senior technical input for bids, proposals, customer engagements and advanced product applications.
- Mentor engineering colleagues and support future technical leadership development.
Experience Required
- Significant active magnetic bearing experience from an AMB manufacturer or an OEM that integrates AMB technology.
- 15+ years' experience in rotating equipment design and analysis, including 10+ years in Senior or Principal Engineer roles.
- Advanced knowledge of rotor dynamic analysis, vibration analysis, FEA stress analysis, CFD, scientific programming and 2D/3D CAD.
- Strong application of engineering principles, robust design practices, product failure modes and complex problem solving.
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related subject; Master's preferred and PhD advantageous.
