Responsibilities: The role will include responsibility for new projects and the ongoing development of current products. You will work collaboratively with departments, suppliers, and customers, providing support to the team.
- Evaluation of problems and requirements to design new parts and/or modify existing parts.
- Creating technical drawings for new and existing parts.
- Creation of CAD-based technical documentation.
- Leading and contributing to design discussions.
- Progressing projects from conceptual design to production.
- Responsible for creating new bills of materials and manipulating existing bills.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Specific experience in sheet metal design and mechatronics.
- Working knowledge or interest in electrics and/or hydraulics beneficial.
- Experience testing designs and components against relevant standards.
Essential Skills:
- UK-based Degree in a STEM subject.
- 2+ years of professional experience in a design or manufacturing role.
- Experience in mechanical assembly using hand and electrical tools.
- Experience with 3D CAD modelling and technical drawing.
- Creating and manipulating BOMs.
- Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects under pressure.
- Experience of safe working practices and using PPE.
- IT literate, including competence with Microsoft Office.
- Proficient at working with spreadsheets.
- Well-motivated, able to work independently and as part of a team.
- Able to demonstrate lateral and creative thinking.
- Excellent command of spoken and written English.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
