Managing Director – Engineering & Manufacturing

Terriva Limited | Coleshill, Birmingham

Salary: Up to £110,000 + Generous Executive Package

Ambitious? Commercially Driven? Ready to Make Your Mark?

An exciting opportunity to lead an established international engineering business with significant potential and the backing to deliver.

Terriva Limited is seeking an ambitious, commercially astute and hands‑on Managing Director to take full responsibility for the strategic direction, commercial performance and operational leadership of the business.

Specialising in the design and manufacture of sophisticated powder processing equipment, primarily for the pharmaceutical industry, Terriva has an established global reputation, with equipment operating in over 50 countries worldwide.

Following a recent change in ownership, the business is entering an exciting new phase, supported by investment and the resources of a wider group.

We're looking for an entrepreneurial leader who combines strategic vision with commercial drive – someone who can see the bigger picture but isn't afraid to roll up their sleeves and make things happen.

The Role

Reporting directly to the Board, you will have the autonomy and responsibility to shape Terriva's future, strengthen its commercial position and deliver sustainable business performance.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Commercial Strategy & Business Development: Identify new markets, customers, partnerships and revenue opportunities, both in the UK and internationally.
  • Full P&L Accountability: Take ownership of financial performance, budgets, forecasting, profitability and cash flow.
  • Leadership & People Development: Inspire, motivate and develop the team, establishing a high-performance culture built on accountability and collaboration.
  • Operational Excellence: Oversee manufacturing, supply chain, quality and customer delivery, driving efficiency and continuous improvement.
  • Strategic Direction: Develop and execute a clear business plan, working closely with the Board to deliver agreed objectives.
  • Customer & Stakeholder Relationships: Build strong relationships with key customers, suppliers, shareholders and industry partners.
  • Governance & Compliance: Maintain the highest standards of quality, ethics and regulatory compliance within a technically demanding industry.

This is a hands‑on leadership role. You'll be equally comfortable discussing strategy in the boardroom, negotiating with customers and working alongside your team to resolve operational challenges.

About You

We're interested in speaking with commercially focused leaders who have the ambition, energy and capability to take ownership of an established specialist engineering business.

You will ideally bring:

  • Proven senior leadership experience as a Managing Director, CEO, COO, General Manager or equivalent senior business leader .
  • A strong track record of commercial achievement, business development and improving profitability.
  • Experience of full P&L responsibility, financial planning and performance management.
  • A background in engineering, manufacturing, industrial equipment or technically complex products .
  • Strong commercial instincts, with the ability to identify opportunities and convert them into tangible results.
  • Experience leading and developing teams, with a collaborative yet decisive management style.
  • The confidence to operate at Board level while remaining closely involved in day-to-day business activities.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation and stakeholder management skills.
  • A practical, solutions-focused approach, combined with drive, resilience and sound commercial judgement.

Experience within pharmaceutical equipment manufacturing, process engineering or other regulated industries would be advantageous, although we welcome applications from leaders across the wider engineering and manufacturing sectors.

Above all, we're looking for someone ambitious, proactive and commercially hungry, with the ability to turn opportunities into results.

What Terriva Offers
