The Director Business Development (BD) will spearhead the search for new customers and partners across the UK/Europe, focusing on global money movement. As a sole contributor, the individual must be target-driven and passionate about achieving results. The role requires a hands-on approach, involving deep engagement in execution and leading from the front. The director will identify, engage and contract with new business opportunities aligned to the company’s strategic direction.
Impact & Responsibilities
- Own strategic sales and business development strategy for the company, driving expansion and market penetration across the UK/Europe region.
- Build and deliver a strong pipeline of opportunities aligned to the company’s strategic direction.
- Convert the pipeline into clients aligned to the strategic approach.
- Oversee the entire sales process—from lead generation to contract signing, ensuring efficient execution.
- Generate leads and manage reporting; attend tradeshows, source leads, and provide detailed reports to sales management.
- Develop strategic partnerships with fintechs, money remittance companies, and other financial institutions.
- Maintain accurate reporting using CRM tools to track performance, pipeline, and sales activities.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (marketing, product, customer ops) to align strategies and deliver solutions for enterprise customers, ensuring successful execution of new customer go-lives and upsell opportunities.
- Provide actionable feedback and strategic adjustments based on pipeline status and performance metrics.
Essential Qualifications
- 15+ years experience in Payments, Fintech, or Financial Services, with hands-on B2B enterprise sales experience.
- Preferred direct experience selling to enterprise-grade clients such as major money remittance operators, PSPs, fintechs, or banks.
- Strong CRM proficiency; adept at using CRM tools for pipeline management.
- Self-motivated, adaptable, and takes ownership of tasks.
- Collaborative team player with ability to work independently.
- Deep understanding of customer needs, market dynamics, and industry requirements.
- Strong relationship builder; maintains effective relationships with clients, partners, and colleagues.
- Detail-oriented with impeccable attention to detail.
