Who we are - Our Mission terralayr addresses the massive deficit in global energy storage. The over-indexing of electricity generation from renewable energy sources leads to large volatility on the energy grid. The main problem is that wind and solar farms are fluctuating and, by definition, unsteady—there is no sun at night, and it is not always windy. This increases the need for flexibility in the form of battery storage systems to balance the grid in times when supply and demand do not match. By buying and developing grid-scale storage assets and virtually aggregating them across a layer, we are creating the world's first energy cloud. Imagine AWS for energy. Through the flexibility we secure, we can market flexibility-as-a-service and hedging products/power insurance to utilities, SMEs, and industrial players and create virtual storage capacity for PV and wind farms.
What we are hiring for - Your Role As Senior Corporate Finance Manager (m/f/d), you architect and drive terralayr’s long-term financial strategy. You translate complex BESS market dynamics into a robust, investable business plan and a multi-year corporate financial model that becomes the company’s single source of truth. You ensure capital is deployed efficiently, liquidity is secured for growth, and strategic decisions are grounded in rigorous financial planning across our asset portfolio and platform business.
What you will work on - Your Responsibilities:
- Build and operationalize a fully integrated 10-year corporate financial model that connects project-level economics and platform assumptions to consolidated P&L, balance sheet, cash flow, funding needs, and valuation.
- Assess M&A opportunities in Germany and Europe, including market mapping, relationship building, valuation, and execution support for tactical asset disposals and acquisitions.
- Conduct the annual budgeting and mid-term planning process, delivering a board-ready 2-year plan aligned with strategic targets and capital allocation priorities.
- Develop and execute the company’s funding strategy, ensuring liquidity to support the deployment of 1 GW of BESS projects (across equity, debt, and structured solutions).
- Prepare decision-ready materials for leadership, Board, and investors, distilling complex financial topics into clear strategic choices and trade-offs.
- Drive financial rigor across strategic initiatives, defining frameworks and KPIs to support high-quality decision-making at scale.
What we are looking for - Your Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience in Corporate Finance, Investment Banking, Private Equity, Strategy, or similar roles with strong capital markets exposure.
- Deep understanding of debt and equity instruments, including corporate facilities and project finance structures, with the ability to optimize funding strategy and WACC.
- Proven experience leading budgeting cycles, long-term planning, and capital allocation frameworks in a high-growth environment.
- Expert-level financial modelling skills, you build scalable, audit-ready corporate models integrating project finance inputs into consolidated P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow views.
- Strong stakeholder management, able to influence senior leadership and align multiple perspectives across the organization.
- Ability to communicate complex financial insights clearly and credibly to Board, investors, and internal leadership.
- High ownership, structured thinking, and a hands-on execution mindset.
- Fluent in English (German is a plus).
Why you should be excited about this opportunity:
- Work for a company with a clear mission: A world powered by 100% renewable energy.
- Have impact from day 1: Your contribution will not only have a positive impact on society; by joining our small and nimble team, your work will make a difference from day one.
- Become a Shareholder: In addition to your competitive base salary your compensation includes an ESOP component that lets you participate in the development of our growing company.
