General Responsibilities:
- Provide engineering and consulting services for a broad array of projects and clients.
- Perform and/or lead field investigations, engineering analysis, calculations, and recommendations.
- Design and develop plans and specifications, observation and inspection, and write, prepare, and review related reports.
- Review drawings and construction to assure compliance with plans and specifications.
- Prepare proposals and cost estimates, track and evaluate project progress, budgets, and recommend changes.
- Research and resolve design and construction problems.
- Assign, review, and evaluate laboratory or field data for inclusion in reports.
- Apply sound engineering principles and communicate complex engineering issues and concepts to technical and non-technical clients and project teams.
- Services may be provided for existing or proposed projects in sectors such as public works, transportation, commercial, communications, energy, and industrial.
Essential Roles and Responsibilities:
- Follow safety rules, guidelines, and standards for all projects.
- Participate in pre-task planning.
- Report any safety issues or concerns to management.
- Integrate quality leadership practices into daily regimen.
- Provide consistent quality standards on proposal and project delivery.
- Manage and execute small to medium projects, including more complex projects at times.
- Develop the scope of work for routine projects.
- Prepare cost estimates, specifications, and other project-related documents.
- Analyze data, perform engineering calculations and analysis.
- Coordinate and supervise field investigations, laboratory testing, and evaluation of data, developing recommendations.
- Develop plans, schedules, and coordinate detailed phases of assigned project work.
- Work closely with senior project managers to gain project management and engineering experience.
- Make design recommendations, adaptations, and modifications.
- Prepare work scope, proposals, reports, and plans investigations for approval by senior professionals for routine projects.
- Serve as a technical adviser to junior team members.
- Supervise field staff including engineers, technicians, exploration teams, laboratory staff, and support personnel.
- Interact with clients and project teams to develop scope of services and communicate progress.
- Work under supervision of a Professional Engineer and a Terracon Authorized Project Reviewer.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering.
- Minimum 3-5 years' experience.
- Master's degree in Engineering preferred.
- Valid driver's license with acceptable violation history.
- Engineer-in-Training (EIT) or Engineering Intern (EI) required, with the ability to obtain a Professional Engineer (PE) registration.
Preferred Certification:
- Professional Engineer (PE) registration.
Salary Range Comments:
We anticipate starting salary to be within the lower third of the range. More qualified candidates may be considered for a higher level position. The expected salary range is listed below. The final compensation depends on individual qualifications and experience, and may be adjusted based on location. Minimum $82,400 - Maximum $127,700
