Job Description General Responsibilities: Supervise or monitor all projects in progress in the department to ensure that work is executed on time, in accordance with the client\’s requirements, and within company policies, procedures, and standards. Oversee the preparation of proposals and cost estimates to clients, ensuring proper scoping of services, availability of manpower, and pricing to achieve desired profitability. Manage daily operations of the department, including staff training, development, performance reviews, equipment and facilities utilization, safety oversight, quality of services and work products, timely delivery of services and deliverables, and adherence to policies and procedures. Participate in business development activities to identify, develop, win, and execute project opportunities, and build and maintain client relationships. Essential Roles and Responsibilities: Prepare proposals and cost estimates. Support business and client development activities with the Office Manager. Develop and manage employee staffing plans, recruitment, selection, and onboarding with support from the Office Manager. Prepare and execute the annual business plan for the department with support from the Office Manager. Oversee and manage key department metrics such as revenue growth, staff chargeability, project billing and collections, and project profitability. Understand project-related risks and how to mitigate them, familiar with company risk policies. Lead safety efforts for the team, ensuring compliance with safety rules and fostering a safe work environment; promote pre-task planning. Monitor and improve quality standards and practices on projects. Ensure consistent quality standards in project and proposal delivery. Perform other duties as assigned. Requirements: Bachelor\’s degree in a relevant technical discipline (Engineering, Environmental Science, Geology) with 5 years\’ practice experience or a minimum of 9 years\’ related experience without a degree. Master\’s degree or PhD preferred. Valid driver\’s license with an acceptable violation history. Preferred Certification: Certification or licensure in the field of expertise.
