Our client is seeking an experienced Electrical Design Engineer to support major water and wastewater infrastructure programmes. You will lead and contribute to the full design lifecycle, from feasibility to detailed design, across treatment assets, pumping stations and network resilience upgrades.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop feasibility, outline and detailed electrical designs for treatment works, pumping stations and network systems.
- Produce design deliverables: single-line diagrams, LV power distribution layouts, MCC designs, cable calculations, panel schedules, and equipment specifications.
- Complete load assessments, discrimination studies, short-circuit calculations, and electrical sizing.
- Prepare technical design reports, design risk assessments, and design compliance checks.
- Integrate electrical design with ICA/controls, mechanical, civil, and process engineering requirements.
- Review and approve 3D models and multi-disciplinary design coordination drawings.
- Undertake site surveys, asset condition assessments, and produce upgrade design recommendations.
- Participate in HAZOPs, ALMs, design reviews, value engineering sessions, and technical assurance.
- Ensure all designs comply with BS7671, IEC standards, DSEAR, and water industry specifications.
About You:
- Degree/HND in Electrical Engineering.
- Strong design experience in the water sector (clean, waste, pumping, treatment works).
- Confident producing technical calculations and leading multi-disciplinary design packages.
