The Role
Based at our Alfreton office (DE55), with travel across the UK, this trainee role gets you involved in real projects from day one. You’ll learn how to use advanced surveying tools and software to locate and map underground utilities. With a structured 1 to 2-year in-house training programme, you'll build the skills and experience needed to progress to Junior Utilities Surveyor.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with GPR and utility mapping surveys under supervision
- Learn best practices in utilities surveying
- Operate survey equipment to map underground utilities
- Complete allocated survey and office tasks to a high standard
- Process survey data using LSS, N4CE, and CAD software
- Take part in on-the-job training and mentoring

The Person
- Ideally holds or is willing to work towards a utilities mapping qualification
- 5 GCSEs (including Maths and English) at grade C or above
- UK driving licence and own transport required
- Enjoys working outdoors in varied environments
- Clear communicator and team player
- Motivated and keen to learn
- Good IT skills (Excel and CAD experience helpful)
- Positive, professional, and reliable
