We\’re currently recruiting for a dedicated Support Assistant to join a specialist school near Robertsbridge, where you\’ll play a key part in supporting children and young people with a range of special educational needs.

Position Overview:

  • Job Title: Support Assistant (Education Setting)
  • Location: Robertsbridge, East Sussex
  • Start Date: ASAP or after October half term
  • Contract: Full-time, Term-Time Only
  • Working Hours: Monday to Friday, during school hours

Key Responsibilities of a Support Assistant:

As a Support Assistant, you will:

  • Provide tailored support to students with a range of needs, including personal care and mobility assistance
  • Collaborate with teaching staff to maintain a safe, inclusive, and engaging learning environment
  • Deliver 1:1 or small group support throughout the school day
  • Encourage the development of communication, independence, and emotional wellbeing
  • Help pupils manage sensory or physical needs as part of their daily routine

Ideal Candidate Profile:

To be successful in the Support Assistant role, you will need:

  • Experience working in care, education, or a support role (preferred but not essential)
  • A patient, respectful, and nurturing attitude
  • A genuine interest in supporting young people with additional needs
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • An enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply for one)
