Location: East Sussex & Brighton Salary: £93-£110 per day Contract: Full-time, Part-time & Supply Start Date: Immediate / Ongoing Academics are working with specialist schools and alternative provisions across East Sussex and Brighton, supporting children and young people with SEMH needs, trauma and complex behavioural needs. We are looking for caring, resilient and patient SEN Teaching Assistants who can build positive relationships and provide consistent support to pupils who may have experienced significant challenges. You could be supporting pupils with: SEMH and emotional regulation difficulties Trauma and adverse childhood experiences Anxiety, attachment difficulties and EBSA Challenging or distressed behaviour ADHD and Autism Communication and social difficulties EHCPs and additional learning needs The ideal candidate: Has experience supporting children or young people Is calm, patient and consistent Can build trusting relationships Understands that behaviour can be a form of communication Has a genuine interest in supporting pupils with additional needsPrevious school experience is desirable but not essential. Experience in youth work, residential care, children's services, mentoring or behaviour support can also be highly relevant.
