Are you passionate about supporting children with Special Educational Needs? Do you have the patience, empathy and dedication to help a child reach their full potential? Academics is recruiting on behalf of a welcoming primary school in Brighton for a SEN Learning Support Assistant to provide dedicated 1:1 support to a pupil in Key Stage 2. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a real difference in a child’s educational journey while working within a supportive and inclusive school.

The Role

  • Provide dedicated 1:1 support for a KS2 pupil with additional needs.
  • Work closely with the class teacher and SENCo to implement personalised learning and support strategies.
  • Support the pupil’s academic progress, social development and emotional wellbeing.
  • Adapt learning activities to meet the child’s individual needs.
  • Encourage independence, confidence and positive behaviour.
  • Build a strong, trusting relationship with the pupil while working collaboratively with school staff and parents.

The Ideal Candidate

  • Has previous experience supporting children with SEN in a school or similar setting.
  • Has experience working with needs such as ASD, ADHD, speech and language needs or SEMH (desirable).
