A well-regarded independent school in the Tunbridge Wells area is seeking a skilled and organised Science Technician to join their Science Department on a part-time basis from January. This is an excellent opportunity for an enthusiastic and proactive individual to support high-quality teaching and learning across Biology, Chemistry and Physics.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare, set up and clear away equipment, materials and chemicals for practical science lessons.
- Ensure laboratories and prep rooms are maintained to a high standard of safety, cleanliness and organisation.
- Support teachers with demonstrations and experiments, including the safe handling and storage of equipment.
- Maintain accurate stock levels of materials and order replacements when required.
- Assist with the implementation and monitoring of all relevant health and safety procedures, including risk assessments.
- Provide general technical support to teaching staff across the Science Department.
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
- Previous experience as a Science Technician or a strong scientific background (school, laboratory, or industry).
- Good understanding of laboratory health and safety practices (CLEAPSS knowledge beneficial).
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
- A proactive, flexible and supportive approach to working within a team.
- Confidence working across all science disciplines at secondary level.

- Hours: 21 hours per week (part-time)
