Academics are recruiting on behalf of a fantastic Special School in Mid Sussex for a Full-Time SEN Teaching Assistant to join their dedicated team from September 2026. This is a fantastic opportunity to work with children and young people with a range of Special Educational Needs, including Autism (ASC), ADHD, SEMH, speech and language needs, and moderate to severe learning difficulties. Every day is different, offering the chance to make a lasting impact on pupils' confidence, independence, and learning.
The Role
- Full‑time position starting in September 2026
- Supporting pupils on a 1:1 basis and in small groups
- Encouraging positive behaviour and engagement with learning
- Working alongside experienced teachers, therapists, and support staff
- Helping to create a safe, nurturing and inclusive learning environment
What We're Looking For
- At least 6 months' experience supporting children or young people with Special Educational Needs
- A caring, patient and resilient attitude
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
- Right to work in the UK
