Behaviour Support Teaching Assistant

Mid Sussex | Primary School | Full-Time | Long-Term Opportunity

Academics Agency are currently recruiting for a Behaviour Support Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in Mid Sussex.

This role would suit someone who is confident supporting children who may experience challenging behaviour, emotional regulation difficulties or SEMH needs.

The Role:

  • Providing 1:1 and small-group behaviour support
  • Helping pupils manage emotions and regulate their behaviour
  • Building positive and trusting relationships
  • Supporting pupils to engage with learning
  • Working closely with the class teacher and SENCO
  • Providing a calm, consistent and nurturing approach

The Ideal Candidate:

  • Previous experience supporting children with behavioural or SEMH needs
  • Calm, patient and resilient
  • Confident managing challenging behaviour
  • Able to build strong relationships with children
  • Experience in a school, SEN, youth work or support setting is desirable

Salary will be determined by the successful candidate's qualifications and relevant experience, and will be in accordance with the client's pay policy
