We are looking to appoint a dedicated and resilient Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join a specialist SEMH school in the Sevenoaks area. This role is ideal for a HLTA who is passionate about supporting children with social, emotional, and mental health needs and making a meaningful difference to their lives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver learning activities to individuals, small groups, and whole classes under teacher direction as a HLTA
- Provide consistent, nurturing support to pupils with SEMH needs
- Support behaviour regulation and emotional development using positive behaviour strategies
- Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and other professionals
- Promote a safe, structured, and inclusive learning environment
- Contribute to pupil progress, wellbeing, and positive outcomes
The Successful Candidate Will:
- Hold HLTA status or have significant relevant experience
- Have experience working with pupils with SEMH, SEND, or challenging behaviour
- Be calm, patient, and emotionally resilient
- Demonstrate strong behaviour management and de-escalation skills
- Be flexible, proactive, and committed to safeguarding and inclusion
