We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN Learning Support Assistant to join a welcoming two-form entry primary school in East Grinstead. This rewarding role involves providing 1:1 support for a child in Key Stage 1 with an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) and a diagnosis of Autism (ASD).

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide tailored 1:1 support to meet the child's individual learning and emotional needs
  • Work closely with the class teacher and SENCo to implement strategies from the EHCP
  • Support the child's social, communication, and behavioural development
  • Help create a positive, inclusive, and engaging learning environment

Requirements

  • At least 6 months' experience working with children (experience supporting children with SEN is highly desirable)
  • Understanding of Autism (ASD) and strategies to support children with additional needs
  • A patient, nurturing, and adaptable approach
  • An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to apply for one
