Deputy Room Leader - 3 Days Per Week Location: West Sussex, near Haywards Heath Days: Monday - Wednesday Start Date: ASAP Contract: Ongoing / Temporary with potential for longer-term work Agency: Academics Deputy Room Leader - West Sussex Academics are currently recruiting for an experienced Deputy Room Leader to join a welcoming school-based setting in West Sussex, near Haywards Heath. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Early Years professional who is looking for a part-time position working three days per week, Monday to Wednesday, and who can start as soon as possible. The successful candidate will support the Room Leader with the day-to-day running of the room, ensuring children receive a high standard of care, learning and development in a safe and nurturing environment. The Role As Deputy Room Leader, you will: Support the Room Leader with the effective day-to-day running of the room Help to plan and deliver engaging, age-appropriate activities Support children's learning, development and wellbeing Build positive relationships with children, parents and colleagues Promote a safe, inclusive and stimulating learning environment Assist with observations, assessments and children's learning journeys Support and guide other members of the team where appropriate Follow safeguarding and nursery policies and procedures at all times Requirements To be considered for this role, you will need: CACHE Level 3 Early Years qualification (or equivalent) Previous experience working as a Deputy Room Leader or in a similar senior Early Years position Strong knowledge of the EYFS Excellent communication and teamwork skills A genuine passion for supporting children's learning and development A commitment to safeguarding and promoting children's welfare Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to apply for one Two years of satisfactory references covering your relevant employment/education history Why work with Academics?
