Job Summary:
At term time teachers, we are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Design and Technology (DT) Teacher to join one of our amazing secondary schools in Sevenoaks. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high quality DT lessons across key stage 3 to key stage 4 with the potential to teach Key Stage 5 depending on experience. The ideal candidate will inspire, help students develop their problem-solving and enhance their technical skills fostering a love for design and practical innovation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver engaging, varied lessons in Design and Technology in line with the national curriculum.
- Teach across a range of DT areas such as product design, engineering, graphics and textiles depending on specialism and department need.
- Create lesson plans, support students' assessments and monitor their progress.
- Maintain a safe and inclusive learning environment.
- Follow school policies on safeguarding, behaviour, and health & safety at all times.
Minimum Requirements:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
- Experience teaching DT in secondary schools
- An Enhanced DBS check on the Update Service (or willing to apply for one)
- Strong subject knowledge of business studies and effective classroom management skills
- A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
- Hold the right to work in the UK.
