Academics is recruiting on behalf of a welcoming primary school in Brighton for a SEN Learning Support Assistant to provide dedicated 1:1 support to a pupil in Key Stage 2. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a real difference in a child's educational journey while working within a supportive and inclusive school. The Role As an SEN Learning Support Assistant, you will: Provide dedicated 1:1 support for a KS2 pupil with additional needs. Work closely with the class teacher and SENCo to implement personalised learning and support strategies. Support the pupil's academic progress, social development and emotional wellbeing. Adapt learning activities to meet the child's individual needs. Encourage independence, confidence and positive behaviour. Build a strong, trusting relationship with the pupil while working collaboratively with school staff and parents. The Ideal Candidate Has previous experience supporting children with SEN in a school or similar setting. Has experience working with needs such as ASD, ADHD, speech and language needs or SEMH (desirable). Is patient, caring and resilient. Has excellent communication and teamwork skills.
