Aspiring Educational Psychologist - East Sussex
We are looking for a dedicated Learning Support Assistant to work at term time to support children with Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD) and associated challenging behaviours.
You will join a friendly, energetic and creative team in Eastbourne.
The school caters for children aged 3‑19 with a wide range of additional needs, including sensory impairments, physical difficulties and challenging behaviour.
As a Learning Support Assistant you will support the teachers and therapists, expanding your knowledge and gaining relevant practical experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Work 1:1 and in small groups with students.
- Plan learning activities tailored to pupil ability, with support from a teacher.
- Encourage development of social skills and support students’ individual needs.
- Provide academic and pastoral support.
Qualifications and Experience
- Experience working with young people with special needs is desirable but not essential.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

What We Offer

Applicants must have right to work in the UK; no visa sponsorship provided.
Candidates registering with Term Time Teachers need to hold or apply for an Enhanced DBS and/or overseas police check where appropriate.
All applicants will be subject to a full face‑to‑face registration and Enhanced DBS (formerly known as CRB).
