Academics are working with a number of mainstream primary and secondary schools across East Sussex that have dedicated specialist SEN provisions, and we're looking for enthusiastic Teaching Assistants to join their teams.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who wants to develop their SEN experience while working within a supportive school environment.
The role
You could be supporting pupils with:
- Autism / ASD
- Speech and Language Needs
- Social Communication Needs
- ADHD
- Sensory needs
- Learning difficulties
- SEMH
- EHCPs
- Behavioural and emotional needsDepending on the school, you may work within a small specialist base, supporting pupils individually or in small groups before helping them access wider mainstream activities where appropriate.
We're looking for:
- Previous experience supporting children or young people
- A genuine interest in SEN
- A calm and patient approach
- Excellent communication skills
- Someone who can build positive relationships
- Reliability and consistency
- A willingness to learn and developExperience of ASD, SEN, education, care, youth work or support work would be advantageous.
